Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen

Hey guys, it's Thursday again which means it is time for Third Sentence Thursday! I will be posting another three third sentences from one novel. This week it is Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen! I'll make sure these ones aren't too spoiler-y!

(1) There was just the little matter of the jail thing to get out of the way first. (p. 14)
(2) The NO was still on her face. Even so, she said, "I'll think about it." (p. 90)
(3) How the guilt felt so heavy on me, like ten of those drapes they put on you at the dentist before they take X-rays. More than enough to hold you down, no matter how you struggle to rise up. (p. 300)

Goodreads Synopsis
Peyton, Sydney's charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion's share of their parents' attention and—lately—concern. When Peyton's increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?

Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends, and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac, gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.
